Terms of Service

Terms governing use of the gog command-line application.

1. Acceptance of terms

By installing, authorizing, or using gog ("the Application"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Application.

2. Description of the service

The Application is a personal, self-hosted command-line client that connects to Google APIs on behalf of its operator, using OAuth 2.0 authorization granted directly by the Google Account owner. It is provided for personal, single-user use and is not offered as a hosted, public, or commercial service.

3. Eligibility and authorized use

• The Application is intended for use by the individual who installs and authorizes it, acting on their own Google Account.
• You must be the legitimate owner of, or have valid authority over, any Google Account you authorize.
• You agree to use the Application only in compliance with Google's applicable terms and policies, including the Google API Services User Data Policy.
• You must not use the Application to access data you are not authorized to access.

4. Your responsibilities

• You are responsible for safeguarding the local credentials stored on your machine.
• You are responsible for the actions the Application performs on your behalf, and for the scopes you choose to grant.
• You are responsible for maintaining backups of any data you process with the Application.

5. Privacy

Your use of the Application is also governed by the Privacy Policy, which describes what Google user data is accessed and how it is handled.

6. Third-party services

The Application interacts with Google services that are governed by Google's own terms and policies. The Application is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google LLC. "Google", "Gmail", "Google Drive", "Google Calendar" and related marks are trademarks of Google LLC, used here only to describe interoperability.

7. No warranty

The Application is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. No warranty is given that the Application will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator of the Application shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising out of or related to the use of, or inability to use, the Application.

9. Changes to the application or these terms

The Application and these Terms may be updated at any time. Continued use of the Application after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The "Last updated" date above will be revised accordingly.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Application at any time. Revoking the Application's access at myaccount.google.com/permissions and removing local credentials ends the arrangement described in these Terms.
